UCReLab Global Panel, the UCR Student Panel, the eLab eXchange, and
the eLab Second Life Panel, and is in compliance with the
Institutional Review Board policies of the Office of Research at
the University of California, Riverside and follows the best
industry practices. The UCR eLab privacy policy adheres to the following principles: 1) Adoption and implementation of a privacy policy that takes into account consumer anxiety over sharing personal information online. 2) Notice and disclosure of information collection and use practices. 3) Choice and consent, giving users the opportunity to exercise control over their information. 4) Data security and quality and access measures to help protect the security and accuracy of personally identifiable information. The core of UCR eLab’s privacy policy is this: UCR eLab promotes the principles of full disclosure and opt-in informed consent. Because we want to demonstrate our commitment to your privacy, we are disclosing our information practices in full. What personally identifiable information we collect and how we collect it.We collect aggregate information site-wide, including anonymous site stats. We also log domain names and/or IP addresses. We may set cookies on your computer to facilitate your use of online research studies fielded by the UCR eLab, and the UCR Sloan Center Web site. Recent versions of most browsers let you easily see and control cookies. We do not use cookies to collect personally identifiable information. On the UCR eLab Signup Page, you have the option of providing us with your name, email address, and some demographic information. This personal information is only gathered by UCR eLab with your express knowledge and active consent. If you have joined the UCR eLab Panel, you may be contacted to participate in an online experiment or survey. Your informed consent will always be obtained prior to your participation in any experiments or surveys, and all information collected will be subject to this privacy policy.
In some cases, we may use the information you give us to tailor
your Web experience online in research studies fielded by the UCR
eLab and the UCR Sloan Center Web site, generate anonymous
statistics, or to contact you via email (e.g. to send you
information you may have requested about UCR eLab’s activities).
