Completing a dissertation on online consumer behaviour. I work as a marketing director of a large internet company in Spain, focused on e-commerce and online branding, and undertake marketing consultancy for innovation companies in Europe.
Hi! It is a delight to continue a dialog with you. I do not plan any dissertation. I practice Internet commerce. I am nearly 61 years old, so it is too late for me to do academic work. However, I have taught ecommerce and continue to guide people. Though I have never been to Spain, I do love the language and the country. Please give me a link to what you have written on a Bhutan site. You are also very welcome to register and write on the sites for which I write regularly. The link facility on this forum has malfunctioned in the recent past and the administrator has not responded to my concerns. I can therefore send you links to sites for which I write by email. My wife and son know Spanish so I can also translate your work in to Indian languages.
Thank you for the link to the conceptual paper. I find it rather speculative and very basic in any case. Nevertheless, I appreciate your kindness, and look forward to more links. I am based in Mumbai.
Though online behavior is a new area, customer behavior itself is very strongly established in marketing literature. My hypothesis is that a model from the brick-and-mortar world will work just as well online provided that a site has Web 2.0 features and Web Plus One also. The converse may also be true: dissonance between online and conventional media messages, or unfamiliar features will put-off potential buyers. You have to set up an experiment to test a hypothesis in my view. A literature review will not suffice for a dissertation.
Adoption is a key aspect of consumer behavior in all models. I feel that your work will have greater value if you run a small experiment. I have a web meeting with about 50 farmers from India on October 31. We are 12 hours ahead of PST and the proceedings will be in Hindi anyway. I can run your experiment and translate the results. The objective of the meeting is to see a product for seed treatment. This is the winter sowing area here.
