Sometimes I come across other uses for the internet that are so far, uncommon. I think the trend of netbooks, small computers basically made to run internet applications is amazing, because it is a natural outgrowth of the fact that you can do almost anything on the internet.
You can:
-make
phone calls
-
write school papers and other documents
-track your
bank account
I
buy all my textbooks for less, talk to interesting people that I would
normally never have the opportunity to meet, and check my
jury duty online.
However, today I found out that I can
tivo any show with
kwiry, according to
this article at
ReadWriteWeb.
Think about it... I could be at work until midnight and not miss
Battlestar Galactica by texting "tivo Battlestar Galactica" on my break.
Apparently, you can harness social media to
capture criminals! Police in New Zealand caught a burglar by posting images on
Facebook.
Could we really use the internet to cut down on crime?
