Using Twitter to Increase Your Offline Traffic

This cool story comes from the blog of Mr. Tweet, a pretty cool service that finds people you should be following on Twitter:

Houston Coffee Shop Uses Twitter to Double Their Clientele

I think the big lesson here is how to use Twitter to position your business:

Step 1: Discover Twitter

Step 2: Follow and Be Followed

Step 3: Offer Something Different (The Purple Cow in Godin Speak)

Step 4: Be Part of the Community

Everyone today expects a spot to relax, coffee, and hopefully some free wifi at your local coffee shop, but this coffee shop is now the shop that takes To Go orders by direct message on Twitter. You could be in the coffee shop and skip the line by ordering another coffee from your seat. Not only is this coffee shop more convenient, but it is also the place to be for Twitter users.

If I were in Houston, I'd go to that coffee shop.

I’m a Twitter member and I am proud to say that twitter is the best. It is a good way to share your thoughts as well as encourage everyone to visit your site. ;)
