What Could You Do With Instant Feedback?

Connectivity in an Instant.

At this moment, I can't think of anything that makes the internet...well, the internet.

And now, someone else has figured out a cool way to harness it in the entertainment business.

I thought it was pretty cool when Oprah used Skype to interview someone.

Jimmy Fallon used Twitter
on the Late Night Show to crowdsource the public for questions for Cameron Diaz! (Check the link for the video on Hulu)

Interweb the Rainbow

Also, Skittles has thrown their hat in the social media ring by turning their website on the internet into a social media hub, with the tagline, "Interweb the Rainbow. Taste the Rainbow"

Personally, I think its incredible - in keeping with the idea that the public controls your brand, the home page shows the Wikipedia article on Skittles. The Chatter area shows a Twitter search on Skittles showing you at anytime, what people are saying about Skittles. The Media:Videos section takes you straight to videos on Youtube.

And all this content is not fabricated by Skittles, it is generated by the millions of people on the internet. Skittles is embracing their fans.

In keeping with the idea that anything could be said about Skittles, I was required to put my birth date in. This was a little weird since I'm only used to this on sites for alcoholic brands, but I do understand the risk Skittles is taking in embracing anything that might be said about them on the internet and making it visible on the Skittles website, and in that light, it is a good precaution. This is a huge move by Skittles, but perhaps explaining why one's birth date is necessary would be even more helpful.

Thanks for the link. I visited the site and your were right. Before you can view the content you must enter your birth date. Seems kind of strange.
